"The FBI Meets Ghostbusters"

We bought a historic house in Brentwood which was built by a Hall of Fame songwriter in 1970. The good part was that it had eccentric features like an indoor guitar shaped swimming pool. The bad part was that old houses have old plumbing, and it was anything but music to my ears when our water bill tripled. When Keith Bailey from American Leak Detection (ALD) arrived and suited up in all his listening gear and electronic probes, it was like something between Ghostbusters and the FBI running surveillance – and it worked! We have a 2-acre front yard, and he was able to pin the leak down to a few square inches. Now here's the odd part. We have a home warranty plan through Metro Water that had already said they'd cover the repair, but I was concerned about the complexity of this job because the leak was under our driveway, which sits on a bluff. I was so impressed with the professionalism of Carrie in ALD's office and Keith in the field that I hired ALD to do the repair and paid out of my pocket, instead of having the home warranty company send out a plumbing company that I didn't know. And it was the right decision. When Shane and David from ALD began digging, they cut with such laser like precision that the driveway wasn't damaged at all. I hope your water bill never triples and you never have a service line that breaks. But if you ever do, ALD is the company to call.

When I got my water with 3 times the normal usage I panicked, I had already replaced an outside faucet, the interior of a toilet tank, 3 bathroom sink faucets and a kitchen sink faucet. I also had paid a plumber to check every outlet a second time. When I called American Leak Detection in Nashville I first spoke with Kris, a calm and reassuring voice of reason, who walked me through leak detection strategies. I may have a puzzle on my hands still, and perhaps a bill bill ahead but I am no longer living in panic city. Thank you for your reassuring presence.
